Thanks to some keen residents of Mesa, we were made aware of a terrible decision by the Mesa City Council this evening. This once safe, family-oriented suburb of Phoenix has completely lost its way.
Tonight there was an agenda item requesting the City of Mesa send $20,000 to Planned Parenthood (the alleged non-profit organization) to “assist” the Ak-Chin Indian community. This is eugenics on full display and those who voted for this should be ashamed. Kudos to the two councilmembers who said absolutely not. Newest councilmember, Dorean Taylor, issued a statement prior to the meeting that she would be voting NO, calling the agenda item “detestable”. Rich Adams is the other councilmember who said NO to Planned Parenthood.

Here is the agenda item.

How did we get to a place where it is assumed the government should be funding anything to do with Planned Parenthood?

This change of values in Mesa didn’t start with the current council. It was Mayor John Giles, a registered Republican, who ushered in men in girls bathrooms five years ago. Three years ago, Mesa Public Library displayed obscene adult material in the children’s section. There is always a ripple effect when decisions are made, good or bad.
A Planned Parenthood center is located in the shadows of Mesa High School. While this facility does not do surgical abortions, are they dispensing the abortion pill to minors without their parents’ knowledge? What about life-long drugs so children can attempt to transition to the opposite sex?
Every vote at every city council meeting needs to be scrutinized as municipalities are overstepping their boundaries, much like school districts are. Hopefully, there are some pro-family, pro-children Mesa residents who will step up to run against those who voted for Planned Parenthood tonight.
