This is a short update to the status of the lawsuit against us by a teacher in Mesa Public Schools.
On August 1, 2025, the judge dismissed the charges against two of the defendants she is suing for defamation, but did not dismiss the charges against myself and one other defendant. So the case continues.
A couple weeks ago, our attorney responded to 400 paragraphs in the plaintiff’s amended complaint. It is easy to see the pattern–the more they write, the more we have to respond to, and every segment of a billable hour of attorney time quickly adds up. We are seeing lawfare across the country against parents who speak up about concerns in government schools. Also, there is a trend by some librarians who allow minors to have access to questionable materials to sue community members who disagree. This was noted in our response:

Throughout this process, the conversation has been one-way. We can simply confirm or deny the continuing allegations. But this time when our response was filed, our attorney added a twist. We have filed a counterclaim:

Responding to these lengthy court documents has been costly. For this reason, we are attaching our GiveSendGo once again.

MANY of you have helped and been more than generous with your prayers, support, and your hard-earned money. The only request now is that you please share this wherever you can. There may be people throughout the country who have not heard about this case and would be able to give a little bit to offset the mounting legal costs. Again, don’t be upset at the legal teams who are defending us–they are being thorough and thoughtful. Many hands make light work, so this is the reason for sharing the GiveSendGo once again. So many of you have already made this much lighter and definitely upbeat and I thank you for that!
