Last week’s governing board meeting at Mesa Public Schools exposed the deep divide between parents and the education system in the United States. Mesa is the largest school district in Arizona, and the problems within the district are reflected around the country because bloated administrations and teachers unions are focusing on the wrong things.
The backstory is Mesa Public Schools is being sued for hiding transitioning of students from parents, which is not only completely wrong from a common sense perspective, but violates Arizona state statutes. One of Mesa’s newest board members, Sharon Benson, wanted to address possible loopholes to make sure parents are involved with their children’s education. The LGBTQ+++ crowd heard about this and they came out of the woodwork to speak during public comment.
The call to action was successful, there were 84 people signed up to speak. Unfortunately, most who came to the microphone spoke against parental involvement and transparency. The group which begs for tolerance shut out the most important people in childrens’ lives. It turns out the call to action was not an organic movement. We don’t know that all who spoke against parents were residents of Mesa or have children in Mesa Public Schools. That is okay, public comment is for the public. However, some who push preferential LGBTQ rights criticize pro-family individuals and groups who speak at board meetings outside of their own district. It appears they aren’t “tolerant” of other opinions. When the well-funded LGBTQ crowd takes over the room, other voices are drowned out. Many ask why Republicans and conservatives aren’t as organized as the other side. It turns out the “organization” on display in these instances is coming from the federal government down to the municipal level, and not necessarily from Mesa Public School families.
Education Action Alliance sent out the following announcement before the board meeting.

What is Education Action Alliance? Is it a group promoting student academics? Or better teacher pay? Maybe fewer students per teacher? Education Action Alliance is the new name for GLSEN, the national organization which has been pushing LGBTQ in schools instead of math and reading. Is it a coincidence GLSEN changed its name locally to take on a new identity?
Obviously there is a problem with trust in Mesa Public Schools. One of the voices in support of tightening up loopholes wrote an op-ed after the meeting. In the post, he attached the spreadsheet that has been used to hide transitioning information from parents.

Parents get to provide all necessary items for their children. They financially support every need which arises, every extracurricular activity, they get up during the night to tend to sick children, they get to wrangle the family at the grocery store, break up feuds between siblings, laundry, cooking, on and on, but these parents aren’t privy to how a teacher refers to the child inside a Mesa school building. Obviously, this needs to be resolved. The proposed policy can be read here.
After Tuesday’s board meeting, Education Action Alliance sent out an update. We highlighted some concerning statements.

Parental Rights is a weapon? Remember this video from several years ago? It was shocking at the time, but at least they were honest.
After a little research, many of the breadcrumbs ended up at an address of 1101 N. Central in Phoenix. It turns out this is the Parsons Center for Health and Wellness. According to the Maricopa County Assessor, the property is owned by the City of Phoenix.

Here is what is housed inside, note GLSEN (Education Action Alliance) and One-n-ten.

This building is the pot of gold at the end of the government-funded rainbow. One of the organizations at this address is the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.

Southwest Center for HIV/AIDs posted its annual report to the City of Phoenix. The organization looks to be medical on the surface via Prisma Community Care, but it has a strong lobbyist and activism arm as well.

Mesa Public Schools is the perfect district to which to market. Not only is its size an advantage, but it is a preschool–grade 12 district. What name does MPS use for the students, the birth name chosen by parents after much thought and care? Or a new name in coordination with some MPS employees?

Since when do little kids care about an “inclusive classroom”? They don’t. Give them toys, books, bright colors, sounds, smells, playground equipment, dirt, bugs, and balls to play with. The verbiage is a ploy to introduce impressionable kids and their parents to the LGBTQ agenda at a very young age, without saying so. Here is Southwest Center’s sexual agenda marketing plan for children as young as three years old.

Teachers, if you want to be activists, you’re in the wrong business. Look at the salaries available at Southwest Center.

There is so much money going to so many organizations which undermine the family. This is why they are better coordinated than pro-family lobbyists. We took a look at the financial statements and reports ending December 31, 2023. Southwest Center submitted a detailed report to the City of Phoenix, which was loaded with information. For example, Phoenix voters, do you know you voted for a bond which funds this building and many of the programs within?

An organization and its building was designated to help prevent AIDS and help those living with the disease, but somehow it and its partners within are now going around to school districts to support sexual transitioning behind parents’ backs. Guess what Arizona, it’s not just Phoenix voters who were railroaded. Look at these grants and the pass-through agencies.

The bottom line is addressing the trangender notification policy in Mesa Schools is necessary. However, it is also a fantastic marketing opportunity for those who feel parental rights are being weaponized. These groups do a good job creating empathy while fundraising, which augments the government grants they already receive. All the while, those at 1101 N. Central who want access to other peoples’ children are softening the edges to promote the LGBTQ movement. Those who protect children are on the right side of history and science, and we don’t need a paycheck or government grant to do so.
